Mixing Colors

Do you like spending money on paint? I am not about spending $2-$3 on a color I’m literally only going to use once.
So, crazy crafters, I am going to introduce you to the world of primary colors! Yes, you probably already know about primary colors and the color wheel; but did you relate it to crafting?!
Maybe you did, but whatever, I’m going to keep going anyways.
My grand money saving technique is to only buy primary colors and white. From there, you can pretty much mix any color you want.
Lets travel back in time to elementary school and get crafting!

Depending on the shade of pink you want, you may want to add more or less red. If you want a hot pink, add more red, if you want a pale shade, add barely any red at all.

Again, depending on the shade you want, you can mess with the ratio of yellow and blue. You can also add white to make a lighter shade of green.
Throw them all in! If it comes out with a dark purple tint, add more yellow! Play around to get the perfect brown!

You will most likely want to put in more yellow than red, unless you want a dark blood orange.
You will most likely want to add some white paint to your mixture to lighten up the purple shade.
Teal is interesting to make and what I found works best is to mix the white and blue first to get a nice light blue, and then add a little yellow. You can mess with the amount of white paint you put in to adjust the shade of teal.

Add a lot more white then yellow. I would just dip a Q-Tip in yellow briefly, and then mix it in with the white paint.
Use that brown you made earlier and add some white! You can also add other paints to the brown such as red to get a rusty color. This is great for natural colors!

Warning: mixing colors is oddly soothing and you may become addicted.
Have fun and don’t go too wild!

Remember crafters, be crazy!
